Removing CO2 from the atmosphere with Direct Air Capture

Companies with hard-to-abate emissions will need Carbon Dioxide Removal (CDR) credits to achieve their net-zero goals. By employing Direct Air Capture and geologic sequestration, 1PointFive will provide high quality, durable CDRs so they can.

Solving the climate challenge together

Models published by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) and the International Energy Agency (IEA) require removing up to 20 Gt of CO2 per year to limit global warming to 1.5°C. Purchasing CDRs that will be generated via Direct Air Capture (DAC) and sequestration give you a way to take action now.

CDRs you can count on

DAC CDRs are a vital part of the portfolio of solutions needed to address climate change.

With the ability to store CO2 on geological timescales, sequestration is considered one of the most stable, durable forms of carbon storage.

Our first DAC facility, STRATOS, will be the world's largest DAC facility, designed to remove up to 500,000 tonnes of CO2 annually once fully operational. Our next generation of DACs have the potential to double in capacity.

DAC with sequestration, under an EPA-approved monitoring, reporting and verification program, provides quantitative, auditable data to measure and track exactly how much CO2 gets removed from the atmosphere and stored.

1PointFive’s DAC facilities utilize Carbon Engineering’s technology, which is designed using equipment that’s proven at industrial scale with existing supply chains in place. This technology has distinct advantages that will allow us to efficiently remove CO2 at the levels needed to address the climate challenge.

FAQ

DAC, CDR and Sequestration Knowledge

DAC CDRs from 1PointFive will be generated by removing CO2 from the atmosphere and storing it in geological formations deep underground. As DAC is a tech-based solution, we can more accurately measure and verify exactly how much CO2 is removed. Also, geologic sequestration has a high level of permanence, therefore the CDRs are deemed by third party verifiers to have greater durability than other credits.

Purchasing DAC CDRs today, even at small volumes, is a crucial step toward demonstrating your commitment to meeting future sustainability goals and is invaluable to developing a CDR market so that DAC CDRs will be available on a larger scale by 2030, 2040, 2050 and beyond.

We’ve received a lot of interest from leading organizations and are currently pre-selling CDRs from our STRATOS facility.
